DSRE Investment Group was founded by Mr. Daniel Schlichter, who is also the company's Managing Director and has over 20 years experience and knowledge of the real-estate business, including expertise in income-generating properties and real-estate development in Israel and Europe. With an MBA from Tel Aviv College and a degree in real-estate management from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, he aims to make DSRE Investment Group a leading real estate investment company in Eastern Europe, with the vision of expanding its activities to other countries in the region in the coming years.     

After extensive market research in Eastern European countries, in 2005 DSRE Investment Group decided to invest in the Bulgarian market, and specifically in Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second largest city, with a population of 380,000 people and 700,000 people living in the region.

DSRE Investment Group's first investment in Plovdiv was a shopping mall development,  45,000 sq m TBA with 22,000 sq m leasable areas. It was decided to develop this project as a joint venture with Cinema City Group, the largest Multiplex cinema operator in Eastern Europe and developer of the successful Mall of Sofia.
The project was named Mall of Plovdiv, and it was fully leased and sold in 2007 to GE and the Irish fund Quinlan for nearly €100 million in a landmark transaction in the Bulgarian investment market.

In mid-2007, DSRE Investment Group decided as a part of its strategy to expand its investments in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, investing in several projects designated as logistics parks, residential neighborhoods and retail park developments.

As of 2010, DSRE Investment Group owns and manages a portfolio of nearly 2 million sq m of land, designated for three residential neighborhoods with nearly 3,000 apartments and houses, three logistics parks with a TBA of 800,000 sq m, and a retail park of up to 60,000 sq m TBA. All the projects in each sector are situated in unique strategic locations.

DSRE Investment Group has decided to use its intensive experience and knowledge to enter into interesting investment opportunities in the income-generating properties segment in Bulgaria and other Eastern European countries, mainly office buildings, retail projects and logistics buildings. DSRE Investment Group intends to acquire these assets in the coming years, together with strategic partners, in order to assemble a substantial portfolio of income-generating properties mainly in capital cities, and to expand this segment in parallel with its real-estate developments.
